Travel and philosophy

This simple yet profound book describes the thoughts and feelings of the author while living in Switzerland. I found it extremely touching and honest - because this author does not back away from speaking her truth or revealing her feelings whether it be joy or sadness. I felt inspired by this book of real life stories and highly recommend it. It will give the reader a view of Switzerland from a cultural and human interest perspective as seen through the perceptive eye of this author.

A penetrating view of life, lived in Switzerland as seen through Ms Maxwell-Batten's eyes. One lives the journey with her as she describes her experiences of her marriage into a Swiss family, the poignant narrative as she describes the untimely death of her infant daughter, and finding her independent self through her university years.
